Global IT Administrator

Infrastructure Ahmedabad68 yrs experience
The Global IT Administrator is a senior individual contributor within Client's Information Technology function, reporting directly to the Cloud Engineering and IT leader and responsible for IT operations, infrastructure, and security across Client's global footprint — covering both the India Delivery Center (IDC) in Ahmedabad and the United States. This role is the single point of ownership for day-to-day IT operations across geographies, including managing Client's relationship with TCC (Client's US-based IT vendor), overseeing employee IT onboarding across India and the US, maintaining endpoint health and security compliance, and ensuring Client's global IT environment meets applicable security and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is a seasoned IT professional who is equally comfortable owning hands-on IT operations and engaging with vendors and leadership on IT security, compliance, and infrastructure matters — someone who brings structure, accountability, and a security-first mindset to a globally distributed IT function. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Global IT Operations & Infrastructure • Own day-to-day IT operations across Client's global locations — India (IDC, Ahmedabad) and the United States — ensuring consistent IT service delivery, infrastructure reliability, and user support across both geographies. • Manage and direct Client's third party IT providers in the US and India — coordinating IT service delivery, holding vendors accountable to agreed SLAs, escalating issues, executing projects, and ensuring third party activities are aligned with Client's IT standards and operational needs. • Oversee IT infrastructure including networks, servers, end-user compute, collaboration tools, and SaaS platforms — ensuring systems are maintained, monitored, and operating reliably across India and US environments. • Manage procurement, provisioning, tracking, and lifecycle management of IT assets (laptops, desktops, peripherals, and accessories) globally, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date asset register at all times. IT Onboarding & Endpoint Lifecycle Management • Own the end-to-end IT onboarding experience for all new employees globally — ensuring every new joiner in India and the US receives provisioned and secured devices, configured accounts, required software access, and IT orientation on their first day. • Coordinate with US IT providers for US employee onboarding, providing clear instructions, standards, and timelines to ensure the US-side IT onboarding process mirrors Client's global standards and is executed reliably. • Manage the full lifecycle of employee endpoints — including provisioning, configuration, ongoing maintenance, and structured offboarding and decommissioning when employees exit the organisation. • Identify and systematically phase out devices that are no longer receiving security patches or operating system support — maintaining a current hardware refresh schedule and ensuring no end-of-life systems remain in active use across the organisation. IT Security, Compliance & Patch Management • Ensure Client's global IT environment remains in compliance with applicable security and regulatory standards including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and Client's internal IT security policies — maintaining audit-ready evidence and documentation at all times. • Own and execute Client's global endpoint security patch management programme — monitoring patch status across all devices in India and the US, ensuring timely application of OS, firmware, and application patches, and escalating or remediating devices that fall out of compliance. • Implement and maintain endpoint security controls including device encryption, antivirus/EDR solutions, Mobile Device Management (MDM), and access controls across all company-owned and managed devices globally. • Conduct regular IT security reviews and audits — identifying gaps in endpoint security posture, access hygiene, and policy compliance, and driving structured remediation with clear timelines and ownership. • Partner with Client's Security and Engineering teams on IT-related compliance requirements, audit evidence requests, security incidents, and infrastructure hardening initiatives. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Skills & Experience • 6+ years of IT administration or IT operations experience with demonstrated responsibility for multi-site or global IT environments spanning India and the US, or equivalent international scope. • Proven experience managing IT vendor relationships — including coordination with managed service providers, holding vendors to SLAs, and driving escalations to resolution; experience working with US-based IT vendors is preferred. • Strong hands-on expertise in endpoint management including device provisioning, patch management, MDM platforms (Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or equivalent), antivirus/EDR solutions, and endpoint security controls. • Experience with IT compliance requirements including SOC 2 and ISO 27001 — including maintaining audit evidence, implementing IT controls, and managing security patch compliance programmes across distributed device fleets. • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure including networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall), Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace administration, Active Directory / Azure AD, and SaaS platform management. • Experience managing IT asset lifecycle — procurement, provisioning, tracking, refresh planning, and structured decommissioning of end-of-life hardware. Professional & Behavioral Competencies • Ownership-driven and structured — treats global IT operations as a single, integrated responsibility rather than separate geographies; maintains clear records, proactive communication, and accountability across India and US without gaps. • Security-first mindset — actively monitors endpoint compliance, patch status, and security posture without waiting to be asked; escalates risks early and drives remediation with urgency. • Clear communicator and reliable vendor manager — engaging US-based and India-based vendors and internal leadership with professionalism, clarity, and follow-through; available during US business hours for cross-geography coordination and vendor management.
