Sr. Integration Engineer (Java/Python)
Engineering Ahmedabad4–6 yrs experience
Job Role:
Design and own the integration backbone: microservices in Java 17+ and Python that connect our platform to
third-party systems and stay reliable, observable and secure under real load.
What you'll build
→ Integration microservices end to end in Java 17+ (Spring Boot 3) or Python (FastAPI), choosing the language that suits each integration.
→ Microservice patterns applied properly: API Gateway, Saga (choreography and orchestration), Circuit Breaker, Retry with backoff and jitter, Bulkhead, Transactional Outbox, CQRS, Strangler Fig, idempotent consumers.
→ Sync and async communication: REST and gRPC, plus event-driven flows over RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS and webhooks. Contracts come first, written in OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
→ Containerised delivery on AWS: Docker images, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, Secrets Manager and ECR.
→ Observability and traceability: distributed tracing across services and queues with Zipkin (Micrometer Tracing / Brave), and centralised structured logging, search, dashboards and alerts on the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
→ CI/CD ownership: Bitbucket PR workflow and branching strategy, Jenkinsfile pipeline-as-code, quality gates, image promotion and rollback.
→ Python microservices, not just scripts: async FastAPI services that talk to each other over REST and to queues via aio-pika (RabbitMQ) and aioboto3 (SQS), with Celery or worker processes for background jobs, tenacity retries, circuit breakers, idempotent consumers, and Zipkin tracing and ELK logging just like the Java services.
→ Secure by default: Spring Security 6 (filter chain, OAuth2 resource server and client, JWT, method-level security), FastAPI security (OAuth2 and JWT dependencies), OIDC, mTLS, secrets hygiene and the OWASP API Security Top 10.
→ Technical leadership: design docs and ADRs, code reviews, and mentoring the junior engineers.
