Role Summary The Consultant – Data Governance (Cloud) is a hands-on delivery role within the IDMC Data Governance Practice. Working under the guidance of senior team members, the Consultant configures and operates the IDMC governance and quality tools — CDGC, MCC, CDAM, CDP, and CDQ — to help clients catalog, govern, secure, and improve the quality of their data. Key Responsibilities: Governance & Cataloging (CDGC + MCC) • Set up the data catalog in CDGC by registering data sources and adding their connection details. • Add and organize business terms in the business glossary, and link them to the right tables and columns. • Run and monitor metadata scans in the Metadata Command Center (MCC) — pick the source, schedule the scan, and check that metadata loads correctly. • Tag and classify data assets (for example, marking which fields contain sensitive or personal data). • Help build data lineage views that show where data comes from and where it flows, and use them to check the impact of changes. • Assist data stewards by keeping glossary entries, classifications, and catalog content up to date. Data Access Management (CDAM) • Set up data access policies and rules in CDAM under guidance. • Apply masking and classification-based controls to protect sensitive data. • Help publish data assets to the data marketplace and manage access requests. Data Profiling & Quality (CDP + CDQ) • Run data profiling in CDP to check data for completeness, accuracy, and duplicates. • Build and test data quality rules and scorecards in CDQ. • Track data quality results and help fix flagged issues. Advisory & Delivery (Supporting Role) • Take notes and capture requirements during client workshops, with guidance from senior consultants. • Help prepare solution documents, configuration runbooks, and handover guides using existing templates. • Support senior team members on pre-sales activities, estimations, and proof-of-concept builds. Required Skills & Competencies • Working exposure to one or more of CDGC, MCC, CDAM, CDP, and CDQ, with willingness to ramp on the rest. • Basic understanding of data governance concepts — catalogs, glossaries, lineage, and data quality. • Proficiency in SQL and a general understanding of data and database concepts. • Familiarity with at least one cloud data platform (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, AWS, or GCP). • Good written and verbal communication; able to document work clearly Experience • 2–5 years in data management / data governance, with hands-on Informatica IDMC experience. Preferred / Nice to Have • Informatica IDMC certification (Data Governance or Cloud Data Quality). • Exposure to broader IDMC services (CDI, CAI, MDM SaaS, Product 360). • Awareness of data privacy regulations (GDPR, DPDPA 2023). Education • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
